Well, the wild pigs that made an appearance for the 2009 harvest have returned. Probably related to the cooler, wetter weather patterns this season compared to 2010. Once the pigs had made a number of large, round, muddy holes through the bird nets and had a nibble on the grapes we decided we had to take some defensive measures. The photo shows our newly installed electric fence, cunningly arranged at what we figured was about snout height. So far we're calling this a success, as since the fence has been installed we've seen no further signs of pig damage.
