Our People

Office Manager and Restaurant Supervisor is a Québécois girl with a vivid imagination. Our very own Snow White likes to think that a couple of Tuis whispered in her ear about the beautiful native bush up at Peacock Sky as she stepped off the ferry at Matiatia…but in reality, it was the power of Facebook advertising that brought her to us…either way, we’re sure happy she’s here! She has slotted right into our team and loves working alongside this small happy group; her favourite part of her work here is when her taste buds are called upon to sample new wines or food pairings…as well as meeting guests from all over the world.

When she was a kid, Clara dreamed of being an actress or a singer, anything that involved being in front of people…so she makes a perfect wine tasting host for our groups here. Our girl from Quebec also used to believe that she was a witch or a fairy when she was a kid and still believes in magic & spells, why not come up to Peacock Sky and see for yourself…you might just fall under her spell and walk away with a case of wine!

When she’s not talking to our guests about Peacock Sky wines, you might find Clara at the beach, drinking in the sun…anything to soak up the warm weather before she returns to her igloo in Canada, and is reunited with her family! Like many of us here at Peacock Sky, one of Clara’s passions is life is travel and although it’s sometimes hard to be away from home and family, Clara hopes to continue travelling the world until she’s old and wrinkly!

The all-important question, what would Clara recommend to her friends coming up to Peacock Sky…? She loves the fruity, delicate taste of the 2017 Delicatesse, which is perfect for the hot Waiheke summer!

It’s no wonder Rachael’s favourite colour is yellow, she is such a little sunshine! Despite being from Auckland, she had never visited magical Waiheke island before applying for the job at Peacock Sky. We sure are glad she did! She accepted to leave the big city behind and move to the island, which she is very excited about. She is also very interested to learn new skills in the kitchen with Connie.

Rachael has a soft spot for our delicious Le Côté de la Colline paired with our famous dark chocolate brownie. She sure does have a sweet tooth…

On her days off, this bubbly lady has a lot on her Waiheke bucket list. She loves hiking and nature, swimming, sun tanning on the beach and wants to explore the many vineyards and restaurants around. She sure will not be bored!

Although she dreamt of being a nurse or a paediatrician when she was a child, Rachael fell in love with hospitality and now aspires to operate her own café or bistro.

Despite moving to Waiheke, she still is very close to her family & friends. They are the most important thing to her, “her everything” as she words it.

This young man is our fantastic dishes wizard! He has lived on the island most of his life and it was only a matter of time before he heard about us and applied for the job. What convinced him to join our team is the relaxed atmosphere & rustic vibe from the cellar door and the tasting room. Balazs says he is enjoying his job at Peacock Sky because he likes being productive… but we know it is also because he loves the food cooked by Chef Connie.

When he is not at the vineyard, Balazs is a busy high school student. Between hanging with his friends, biking, playing video games, sailing, drawing and playing music, he sure knows how to make good use of his time. When asked about his dream job, his creative spirit really shows. He aspires to work in a big mix of creative ventures! He would like to work as a writer, musician, artist, and even electrical engineering. But for the moment, his time is taken by his studies.

He already has a few projects going: he has his own YouTube channel, is currently writing a novel and is working on creating music. What an artistic mind!

Meet Sky, the real owner of Peacock Sky Vineyard….or at least he thinks he is…

You can usually find Sky about the vineyard, hanging out around in cars or begging for a belly rub.

And what would this cute Border Collie recommend to doggie friends when they come to hang out at Peacock Sky? Sleeping under the table, with some refreshing water that Peacock Sky will provide when having four legged guests.
